This one was fun, even though I’m nowhere near as into vampires as I was when I was in high school.
It’s Mr. Glass!
Looking up reference images for this one, I discovered there’s going to be a How to Train Your Dragon 3 coming out next year, so that’s neat.
It’s a little late, but close enough!
I might actually get the drawing for the 18th done ON the 18th now! Maybe! (was going to say “get caught up” but I still need to do day 3)
This one ended up taking much too long to get caught up, given the other stuff I had to do today, but still, I enjoyed making it.
This is me, still a day behind!
Got no clue what to draw for “angular” yet.
Was still feeling under the weather yesterday, but I did manage to finish this one off sufficiently. I’m still a day behind, though - have to come up with art for both “weak” and “angular.”
This is more Critical Role fan art, for those unfamiliar - from a moment of levity between adventures featuring Vex and Grog.
I actually got this one done more or less on time last night, but it was pretty late, and I decided to go to bed before posting it.
Today I came down with a cold, and I haven’t quite finished my drawing for “clock” - hopefully I’ll be able to finish it off tomorrow and also get #15 done as well.
Back to politics. I spent a lot more time on this one than the others I’ve done so far this year. And I hope the more cartoony style doesn’t make it seem like I’m being glib about this matter - nothing could be further from the truth. Of all the misdeeds, petty and grandiose, of the Trump administration, this one stands out to me as especially horrifying.
Not much to say on this one.
Doing something Lord of the Rings related is pretty obvious, but I thought it was kinda neat to do more of a “what if?” scenario. So I landed on the idea of Smaug getting hold of the One Ring.
I had to run a little further down my mental train of thought to find an interesting subject to draw for this one, but I’m really pleased with how it turned out.
A reflection of how I’ve been feeling lately.
Still working through my feelings about recent political events.
I figure I’ll be mostly over it in a decade or so.
So…today was kinda rough. It’s not a completely certain done deal, but Brett Kavanaugh is now nearly certain to be confirmed to the US Supreme Court. I find this extremely upsetting, and I was hoping against hope that a couple more people in the Senate would be decent human beings than actually intend to be.
As a result, I didn’t get to today’s drawing until pretty late in the day - didn’t even look at what the word prompt was until about 5pm. Of course, given what’s been on my mind today, when I saw it was “chicken” I didn’t even have to pause to think - it was immediately obvious what I’d be drawing.
I still owe myself a Day 3, but I couldn’t come up with a half-decent idea for the prompt “Roast” so I haven’t finished that one yet.
So uh…hi! Been a while, huh? It’s been kind of a rough summer - for several reasons, which I won’t get into here. I actually have a bunch of things I’ve been meaning to post, but that’s for another time - for now, I decided this morning to go ahead and take a swing at Inktober again, so here’s the results for yesterday and today.
Needless to say, I decided not to further narrow my range of options this year beyond the prompts. Dragons may creep in, of course, but I won’t demand one for every image this time.
Here's the complete set!
