I actually think it’s a bit of a shame that this will end up publishing so small - there’s some fairly subtle details about Felice that I’m fairly proud of, but that are hard to see without blowing the image up a bit.
It took a lot longer to get these finished than I would’ve liked, but they turned out fairly well, I think.
Next, I’ll be posting another illustration from Whispers of Heaven.
I actually finished these back in early September, but I’d gotten out of the habit of posting things regularly this summer.
The 3rd book in The Saga of the Rose series is The Nothing Light, and I drew more maps for that volume. The majority of the story takes place in northern Surak, in and around the city of Lessas, so all the new maps pertain to that region.
In the wake of Inktober this year, I really wanted to get around to revisiting this particular image from last year, so for the last few days I’ve been working it over in color. And I have to say, I’m really, really happy with how it’s turned out.

This one didn’t conjure anything especially obvious for me, but I did come up with this, which was fun.
Was still feeling under the weather yesterday, but I did manage to finish this one off sufficiently. I’m still a day behind, though - have to come up with art for both “weak” and “angular.”
