I actually finished this several days ago, but holiday preparations distracted me from posting.
First ettin all done!
I still have 7 more illustrations for this book, and they’ve unfortunately taken far longer than I intended, but I’m still plugging away!
It’s Mr. Glass!
Back to politics. I spent a lot more time on this one than the others I’ve done so far this year. And I hope the more cartoony style doesn’t make it seem like I’m being glib about this matter - nothing could be further from the truth. Of all the misdeeds, petty and grandiose, of the Trump administration, this one stands out to me as especially horrifying.
Not much to say on this one.
A reflection of how I’ve been feeling lately.
So uh…hi! Been a while, huh? It’s been kind of a rough summer - for several reasons, which I won’t get into here. I actually have a bunch of things I’ve been meaning to post, but that’s for another time - for now, I decided this morning to go ahead and take a swing at Inktober again, so here’s the results for yesterday and today.
Needless to say, I decided not to further narrow my range of options this year beyond the prompts. Dragons may creep in, of course, but I won’t demand one for every image this time.
I'm hopping past another illustration for the time being - this is Kylee's first meeting with Vanderys the Cedrani (or Elf, to us ignorant humans).
Takes place a few hours after 3-3, when the siblings return to their new home following dinner. How exciting, they already have company!
More concept art. Another regional banner for that new project.
I'm in the early stages of embarking on a new long-term commission project. There's going to be a fair amount of concept art done in advance before the job proper begins, so I'll be posting bits of that here from time to time.
I can't get into too many specifics, but it will be a dark fantasy setting, with a strong Norse and Anglo-Saxon period flavor. This is the heraldry from one of the regional powers.
I decided to do another visual pun. I had another idea for the straightforward meaning, but it would have been better suited to color, so I set it aside.
When I mentioned to my wife what today's prompt was, she told me I needed to make sure it would be something I could show my kids, so I kept it clean.
