These are the regional and local maps which are published at the beginning of each book and major part of a book in the Saga of the Rose series.
Map of Western Valory
This will be published at the beginning of future editions of Whispers of Heaven, book 1 of The Saga of the Rose. The author, Krista Rose, had made a version of her own for the first edition using automated map-making software, but wanted me to create new interior maps, including a complete world map for the entire setting. That world map is still in progress, but the continent where most of the story so far takes place is now finished, and this is taken from that.
The Village of Desperation
This is the tiny village where the Rose siblings are all born. This map will appear at the beginning of Part 1 of Whispers of Heaven in future editions of the book.
There is a version of this map already in the currently published edition of Whispers of Heaven, but the author Krista Rose, wanted new maps that weren't made in automated software, so this new version will appear in future editions.
Map of Western Valory & Northern Surak
This will be published at the beginning of the forthcoming ShatterStar, book 2 of The Saga of the Rose. The author, Krista Rose, in addition to hiring me to do interior narrative illustrations for the series, has also asked me to draw the regional maps which appear both at the beginning of each book and the local ones that are placed at the start of each Part. I'm also creating a complete world map for the entire setting, which may appear in a future compendium volume. That world map is still in progress, but the continent where most of the story so far takes place is now finished, and this is taken from that.
The regional map set to appear at the start of Part 1 of ShatterStar, book 2 of The Saga of the Rose by Krista Rose. Or, rather, this is part of it - in the book, there will be a cross-section of the city itself, and showing the major features inside. That part is still forthcoming, but this half is complete, so I thought I'd go ahead and post it now.
This is the cross-section of the main city tower, showing key features that play a major role in the events of ShatterStar. In publication, this will appear superimposed above the image of the larger valley, rather than displayed on a page by itself. It will appear at the beginning of Part 1 of the book.
And here's how it'll look in print, at the beginning of Part 1 of ShatterStar, by Krista Rose.
The town of Fallor continues to play a large role in the story of the Rose siblings in ShatterStar, and so a new version of the town map is going to be published at the start of Part 2. There is a version of Fallor already published in Whispers of Heaven, created by the author Krista Rose using automated software, which will also be revised for future editions to be in line with this style.
Map of the Temple of the Burned
Although only a couple of chapters actually take place inside this location, the events there do play a pretty large role in ShatterStar - enough so that it serves as the title of Part 3, and this map of it appears at the beginning of it.
Complete World Map
The source file is MUCH bigger than this, but it needs to be, since it's the basis for the regional maps which appear at the beginning of each volume of the series. Unfortunately at this scale some of the smaller text is a little bit hard to read in places.
The majority of the story in The Nothing Light takes place in Lessas or the deserts of northern Surak nearby.
The Saga of the Rose series are written by Krista Rose and the content of all these maps are copyright of her.
The City of Lessas
The eldest of the Rose siblings, Kryssa, is actually taken to the city of Lessas early in ShatterStar, but she sees little of it, because she’s brought directly to the Temple of Sirius and doesn’t leave until near the end of The Nothing Light. Much of the rest of the family, and several of their friends, eventually find their way there as well in this 3rd volume.
Temple of Sirius Catacombs
Kryssa is imprisoned beneath the temple at the end of ShatterStar, and her part of the story in The Nothing Light revolves around what she learns down there, and her efforts to find a way out.
